The overall activity level of this tour is Level 2: A balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. Expect some full days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet. While this level is appropriate for travelers that require mobility assistance devices, there could be times when you may have to sit out on some of the included activities.
Travel with an average of 37 people (maximum of 44).

Seasonal & Special Event Notes:

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is planned to coincide as near as possible with the blooming of the trees. "Peak Bloom Date" is defined as the day on which 70 percent of the blossoms of the Yoshino cherry trees are open. The date when the Yoshino cherry blossoms reach peak bloom varies from year to year, depending upon weather conditions. The mean date of blooming is April 3, but nature is not always cooperative, and the National Park Service horticulturists cannot make an accurate prediction much more than 10 days prior. The blooming period starts several days before the Peak Bloom Date and can last as long as 14 days; however, frost or high temperatures combined with wind and/or rain can shorten this period.
During the summer months (June–August), weather can reach high temperatures and many activities are outdoors.
Washington, D.C. attracts visitors year-round, specifically student groups, which means museums and top sites may be crowded.
For groups traveling during the second week of October, the Army Ten-Miler Race will be taking place with traffic and road closures impacting our route. Any groups traveling over this period, the day and timing of Arlington National Cemetery may change. No itinerary inclusions will be missed.
The days and order of sightseeing may change to best utilize your time on tour.

Travel Requirements:

Identification: Travel within USA requires a Real ID compliant form of identification at time of booking air travel and upon checking in at the airport. State-issued driver's licenses and IDs that are not REAL ID compliant are no longer accepted as valid forms of identification at airports. Any fees associated with changing a reservation resulting from a non-compliant identification will be the responsibility of the traveler. Reservation & Payment Information:

A deposit of $698 per person is due upon reservation. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservations made after the seat reduction date of March 25, 2026 are based upon availability.
Final payment due by July 3, 2026. Deposits are refundable up until April 1, 2026.
Single accommodations are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Single rate subject to change based on availability.
To complete your tour, round-trip airport-to-hotel transfers are included when purchasing airfare with your tour. If you arrange your own air, you may purchase these transfers separately. All transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.
For air-inclusive reservations, the name provided at time of booking must match your government-issued ID used during travel. Name changes are subject to penalties.
Many airlines do not provide advance seat assignments until check-in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline's terms and conditions.
Economy air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.

Day 1: Thursday, October 1, 2026 – Washington, D.C.

Arrive in America’s capital and begin your historical journey. There are no scheduled activities today, so you’re free to explore the city independently and soak in its rich heritage.

Day 2: Friday, October 2, 2026 – Washington, D.C.

Start your day at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center with a guided tour of this historic building. Continue with a city tour featuring the White House, National Mall, and other monuments and museums. Pause to reflect at the World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Korean War Memorial. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.

Day 3: Saturday, October 3, 2026 – Washington, D.C.

Tour the Washington National Cathedral, a site of historic significance. Choose your experience: retrace the events leading to Lincoln’s assassination on a walking tour, or explore the world of espionage at the International Spy Museum. After dinner, enjoy an illuminated twilight tour of the Jefferson, Martin Luther King Jr., and Lincoln Memorials before returning to your hotel.

Day 4: Sunday, October 4, 2026 – Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Alexandria

Begin with a narrated tour of Arlington National Cemetery, visiting the Tomb of the Unknowns and Kennedy gravesites. Next, head to Old Town Alexandria for free time to stroll its charming streets during lunch. Continue to Mount Vernon, George Washington’s beloved home, where you’ll tour the mansion, gardens, and grounds before visiting the tomb of General Washington and his wife, Martha. The evening is yours to explore the district’s culinary scene.

Day 5: Monday, October 5, 2026 – Washington, D.C.

Visit a local bakery and non-profit organization supporting veterans and their families. Then, explore the White House Visitor Center and enjoy free time at the Smithsonian Institution’s museums. Later, gather for a farewell dinner to celebrate your journey through America’s capital.
