Day 1: Turin
Private transfer from Turin's airport or train station to your hotel, in a luxury vehicle with an English-speaking driver. Welcome to the largest and most exciting city in the Piedmont region. Day 2: Turin to Lake Orta
After breakfast, transfer in a luxury vehicle with an English-speaking driver, to Lake Orta, the smaller and less-well-known sibling to Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Arriving in Lake Orta in a little under two hours, you will find a serene and enchanting lake and town. Check into your hotel and then stroll along the lakeshore to take in the beautiful views.
Day 3: Lake Orta
Today you will have a Private 2-Hour Tour of the Old Town and Island of San Giulio. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and lead you through the multi-colored village of Orta with its historical buildings, interesting shops and typical cafes, one of the most romantic places in northern Italy. After strolling the cobblestone lanes a short boat ride will take you to visit San Giulio, the small island in the middle of the lake, filled with history. After the tour, you have free time in the afternoon and evening to explore the town further. Enjoy a bottle of local wine provided in your room.
Day 4: Lake Orta to Gavi
After a leisurely breakfast, your private driver will pick you up to head to the winemaking town of Gavi in the Piedmont region (driving time: 2 hours). Gavi is renowned for producing one of the best white wines of Italy. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the resort's restaurant. The hotel is part of the Villa Sparina Winery, which produces the classic Gavi white wine.
Day 5: Gavi to Portovenere
Today enjoy a wine tasting at the Villa Sparina Winery, which produces the classic Gavi white wine, before your private car transfer through the rolling hills of Piedmont's wine country to the Riviera resort of Portovenere (driving time: 2.5 hours). Originally built as a Roman fort, this beautiful village has a picturesque harbor and colorful houses, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your 3-night stay is at the Grand Hotel Portovenere, a luxury boutique hotel with a superb restaurant and outstanding views over the harbor—which you will enjoy while having dinner at the hotel's restaurant this evening.
Day 6 & 7: Portovenere
Day 6:
Portovenere is often considered the "sixth village of the Cinque Terre." Today you will have a Full-Day Tour of the Cinque Terre. Using the local trains, ferries or hiking (your choice while there) your guide will show you each of the five famous villages, stunningly situated on cliffs above the sea.
Day 7:
Free day to explore the charming village of Portovenere, go for a hike if you wish, or take a private boat tour along the coast or to Palerma Island for a lunch or dinner.
Day 8: Depart Portovenere
After checkout, head to the Genoa Airport to fly back home or to the nearest train station to move onto your next Avanti destination!
