Day 1: Arrive South Bali
After clearing customs at Bali Airport, meet your driver for a private transfer to your South Bali hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: South Bali - Street Food Experience
Your morning is free, but in the afternoon, meet your local food guide in Ubud and visit a traditional Balinese house. Learn about coconut oil production and witness the making of Pepes Clengis, a steamed grated coconut dish wrapped in banana leaves. Continue your culinary journey with a stop at a local Warung for 'Cendol,' a refreshing drink with tapioca, coconut milk, and brown sugar. Explore Gianyar Night Market for diverse Balinese delicacies like roast pig, sweet cakes, and 'Bubur Injin,' a fermented black sticky rice cake. Wrap up the evening at a hidden bamboo restaurant near Ubud, indulging in a Megibung dining experience a traditional sharing of diverse Indonesian specialties on a plate or banana leaf, reminiscent of historical ceremonies and special occasions.
Day 3: South Bali - Sunset Over Uluwatu and Kecak Dance
The morning is at your leisure, however in the afternoon prepare to visit Uluwatu Temple with its dramatic location 230 feet above sea level, offering stunning views of crashing waves. Experience a traditional Kecak dance with up to one hundred male performers in a circle, swaying and chanting to hypnotic music. Then, enjoy seafood dining at one of Jimbaran's top beach restaurants known for the best seafood on the island.
Day 4: South Bali to Ubud
After breakfast. Meet your guide for your private transfer to Ubud. It's situated in the central foothills among rice paddies, mystical temples and boasts an impressive culinary scene. After checking into your hotel, the remainder of the day is free for independent sightseeing.
Day 5: Ubud - Tanah Lot Monkey Forest
After breakfast, a full day of touring starting with a visit to the sacred monkey forest of Ubud. This ecological reserve strives to maintain the viability of the Balinese long-tailed macaque, but it's also a nature reserve and Hindu temple complex. Our next stop will be the Bali Batuan Temple, a local Balinese Hindu temple looked after by the local resident of Batuan countryside. For over a thousand years, Batuan has been a village of artists and craftsmen, old legends and mysterious tales. The temple is beautifully designed with Balinese ornaments and the roof temple building consists of fiber from the chromatic black palm tree. Afterwards, we'll make our way to the stunning coastal Tanah Lot temple, located on a rock island in the sea. Have your camera ready as this is the most famous and photographed place in Bali. This sacred Hindu temple sits majestically on a large offshore rock which has been shaped over the years by the crashing waves of the surrounding sea. Returning to your hotel, dinner will be on your own this evening.
Day 6: Ubud - Royal High Tea Experience
Today you'll head to Munduk for an adventure with the FIN Komodo, an Indonesian-built off-road buggy. Receive a safety briefing at the base camp before embarking on a thrilling drive through dirt tracks, Devil's Rock, and local plantations, culminating in racing fun on the Green Circuit. Switch to a mountain bike for a 30-minute dirt trail plantation ride, followed by a picnic lunch. Continue the buggy journey to Bengkel village, visit a serene waterfall for a refreshing bath, and return to base camp for a delectable 4-course meal.
Day 7: Ubud to South Bali
After breakfast, you will have a private transfer to your next South Bali hotel, and the remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 8: South Bali - Traditional Bali and Natural Wonders
For your final day in Bali discover a hidden gem nestled between Seminyak and Ubud, overlooking the Ayung River in Mambal. Embark on a sublime High Tea experience, beginning with a relaxing flower footbath on the riverbank, followed by a luxurious full-body massage. Indulge further with an array of hors d'oeuvers, sweets, and locally-sourced teas while enjoying breathtaking views across a lush river gorge. This enchanting experience promises serenity and culinary delight in a picturesque setting.
Day 9: Depart South Bali
After breakfast, meet your driver for a private transfer to the Bali Airport and onward to your next Avanti Destination!
